• Viewings – We will arrange a viewing at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends. Our knowledgeable member of staff will guide you through the property and answer any questions you may have.
• References – Our team will help you through the referencing process when you find a property you want to rent. We require a satisfactory reference from your employer, your previous or current landlord and a credit reference report. In some cases, we may require a personal reference and/or a guarantor.
• Rents – We’ll give you all the information you need about paying your rent, whether you’re paying directly to your landlord, or to us. You will be responsible for paying Council Tax, Water Rates, Gas, Electricity and Telephone costs.
• Deposit – We require a security deposit, usually equivalent to one month’s rent. Your deposit will be placed in a regulated, independent Deposit Protection Scheme, so that no funds can be taken by your landlord without mutual agreement

STEP 1 : Set Your Budget

Review your finances to ensure you know how much you can afford on a monthly basis for rent. If you have any questions about upfront costs to expect please get in touch with our knowledgeable team.

STEP 2 : Start Your Search

Check online sources for available properties, sign up to property search alerts and make sure you arrange for an appointment in your local Key Property Services branch to speak to our team.

STEP 3 : Arrange Your Viewings

Start arranging to go and view the properties you found, making sure to visit at different times of the day to get a real feel of what is like to live there. Remember to always take notes when you are there.

STEP 4 : Secure Your Home

Once you have made your decision on where you would like to call home, act quickly to secure the property. Ensure you have all the necessary documents available, including a form of identification.

STEP 5 : References & Credit Checks

Now is the time to get your references ready and hand them over to your new prospective landlord or letting agent. This is just a formality normally for the landlords and letting agents to make sure there was no issues in previous rented properties.

STEP 6 : Pay Your Deposit

Once you have all your references and checks complete, the final steps are in sight. You will ordinarily need to pay a deposit on the rented property - you can speak to our friendly team to find out more about the process and where the deposit will be kept whilst you rent.

STEP 7 : Sign Your Tenancy Agreement

You are now all ready to sign the tenancy agreement, a document which will detail the terms of the tenancy. This document is to protect both the landlord and yourself for the duration of your stay. As soon as the ink is dry, you'll be able to get ready to move in!
